Ostara foi o segundo sabá que eu comemorei esse ano, no último domingo 21 de março, correspondente ao equinócio de primavera, aliás a primavera começou no hemisfério norte enquanto o outono começou no hemisfério sul. Há algumas semanas eu gravei um vídeo explicando sobre os equinócios de outono e primavera e os seus significados para os pagãos.
Ostara é o nome que se dá ao equinócio de
primavera e é correspondente à Páscoa. O ovo e o coelho são símbolos dessa
data, que representam a fertilidade e o renascimento, é também a época do
plantio; tanto literalmente falando para aqueles que desejam começar um jardim,
pomar ou uma horta; quanto de uma forma simbólica, plantando as sementes do que
se quer colher no futuro, colocando os seus desejos e intenções.
Mabon, o nome que se dá ao equinócio de
outono é correspondente ao dia de ação de graças. É a época da colheita, tanto literalmente,
já que é a época de colheita da maioria das frutas e vegetais, como
simbolicamente, colhendo os frutos que foram plantados na sua vida. Por isso é
também a época de agradacer, olhar para traz e reconhecer todas as coisas boas
que tivemos em nossas vidas.
Ostara was the second sabbath I celebrated this year, on the last Sunday
21st of March, it corresponds to the spring equinox, by the way the
spring has just started in the north hemisphere while the autumn has started in
the south hemisphere. Some weeks ago, I recorded a video explaining about the
spring and autumn equinoxes and their meaning for pagan people.
Ostara is another name they give to the spring equinox and it’s also
correspondent to Easter. Eggs and bunnies are symbols in this date,
representing fertility and rebirth, it’s also the plating season; literal and
symbolic, for the ones who intend to start a garden is a great time for it, but
it’s also time for planting your wishes and intention for being able to harvest
them in the future.
Mabon is the name for the autumn equinox and it is correspondent to Thanksgiving.
It’s time for harvest, again literally and symbolically, harvesting the fruits
and vegetables and also harvesting good things you have planted in your life.
It’s time to look behind and see all the good things you have achieved and be
thankful.

No sábado, véspera de Ostara, meu marido e
eu fizemos uma longa caminhada por Londres para ver as flores de cerejeira, um
símbolo da primavera japonesa. Há alguns exemplares dessa árvore por aqui,
optamos pelos locais em que poderíamos ir caminhando, ainda estamos em quarentena
e devemos deixar o transporte público para aqueles que realmente precisam.
On the Saturday, Ostara’s eve, my husband and I went for a long Walk in
London to see the cherry blossoms, symbol of the Japanese spring. We have some
of these trees here, we chose the places where we could walk to, we are still
in lockdown and the public transportation is for the key-workers.
No domingo eu fiz uma focaccia (pão
italiano) e a decorei em homenagem a primavera e servi com shakshuka (um prato
israelita feito com ovos) e bacon. Os ovos são um alimento importante em
Ostara, assim como o mel (que eu usei na fermentação da foccaia), frutas e
vegetais da época.
On Sunday I made foccacia (an Italian bread) and decorated it in a
spring aesthetic and I served it with some shakshuka and bacon. Eggs are an
important food for Ostara, as well as honey (that I used to ferment focaccia),
fruits and vegetables.
Depois do café da manhã nós fomos passear
num parque próximo a nossa casa e à tarde eu montei o meu altar com flores que
eu colhi na minha caminhada e fiz os meus ritos e celebrações.
After our breakfast we went for a walk in a park close by and in the
afternoon, I set my altar and did my prayers.

hemisfério norte uma feliz primavera, que todos consigam plantar boas sementes em
sua vida. E aos meus amigos do hemisfério sul que consigam colher bons frutos
nesse outono!
